Heart Meridian

Function

  • In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Heart is known to be the Governor/Emperor of all bodily organs including the brain. It commands the blood vessels and connects to the respiratory system. The heart  stores shen, which is consciousness, clarity and a person’s ability to interact with the environment in healthy terms.  When disturbances to shen occur, people experience a wide range of conditions from brain fog and anxiety to delirium and unconsciousness.
  • On an emotional level, the heart is a container of joy and excitement, love and giving. It is valid to assume that the one who grows up in a non-nurturing environment is prone to Heart Chanel disturbances that show as sadness, loneliness and difficulty to connect with others.
