Sleeping Swan
This graceful pose affects Gallbladder meridian which runs down the side of the body along the outer hip. The pressure from gravity creates nourishment in the groin, stimulating Liver meridian as well.
HOW TO
From Child’s pose, inhale and bring your right knee forward, placing the shin and the knee on the floor in front of you.
If knee joints allow, flex the front foot and bring your shin parallel to the front of your mat.
As you find the edge, fold your torso over the front leg (chest on a bolster) and exhale with a sigh.
Aim to relax completely, letting go of resistance both mental and physical.
Hip tip: have a folded blanket under your right hip and under your left thigh.
Breathe here for 3-5 min and switch sides.
Targets: groin, back, poses, IT band, thighs, piriformis.
